Hooray for Electricity!

The weather here in coastal NC has been keeping us on our toes lately. Last week’s ice storm knocked out power all over the area, including our house, for almost 3 days! Luckily, we had family nearby willing to share their heat and extra room with us for a few days so we weren’t too uncomfortable. Although the internet was out for a couple days too. Yikes! Mike did have a chance to get some amazing photos of the ice storm before the camera batteries died. Here’s a sneak peek:Ice Pictures Collage

While it made for some great pictures, we’re so thankful to get back to normal this week!

The most wonderful time of the year

December is always a special month as we celebrate both our birthdays and our (ok, my;) favorite holiday of the year! Here’s a sneak peak at our first (ever!) “Mike & Bethany Delaney Family Christmas Card.”

One of the exciting events that kicks off the holiday season in our area is the 9th Annual Hope From Helen Surf Silent Auction in Wrightsville Beach. The local surf community really comes together for event and it is always so much fun. There’s great food, good friends and amazing art work!

Mike donated this beautiful piece of surf art to this year’s auction.  “Frontside Foam” was inspired during a surf session in Playa Grande, Nicaragua. The auction takes place on December 6th at the Blockade Runner in WB.

Soul Fish in the Arboretum

mikeThis weekend is a big one for the Soul Fish family! Mike will have several pieces featured in the annual Art in the Arboretum Show at the New Hanover Arboretum in Wilmington, North Carolina. For years, we have enjoyed the exhibit as spectators and are so excited to finally have some Soul Fish Creations pieces in the show!

The beautiful gardens of the Arboretum provide a gorgeous backdrop to the work of numerous local artists. (Here’s a great article about the show from a local art and entertainment magazine, Encore:  Planting Artistic Roots…EncorePub ) Check out Mike’s work this Saturday from 10-4PM and Sunday from 12-4PM

All of Mike’s pieces in this show were inspired by our visits to this beautiful garden turned art gallery. Here’s a sneak peek at some of the beautiful photos and digital art pieces he’s been working on lately.
